Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's official online submission system. Authors are encouraged to review the Focus and Scope, Author Guidelines, and Editorial Policy before beginning a submission.

Maritime Research Ethics and Data

Questions concerning seafarer participation, human-factor studies, vessel data, AIS records, accident investigations, operational logs, port information, safety management records, commercially sensitive data, or other maritime research-integrity matters may be directed to the Editorial Office.

Maritime Data Responsibility: Authors are expected to protect confidential, personal, operational, and commercially sensitive information and to obtain appropriate permissions where required. Assumptions and limitations associated with operational, safety, risk, or simulation data should be transparently reported.

Artificial Intelligence and Safety-Critical Research

Artificial intelligence systems and generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Substantive use of AI in writing, coding, route optimization, simulation, accident classification, risk analysis, data processing, or other research activities should be disclosed where relevant.

Safety-Critical Accountability: Authors remain fully responsible for independently verifying AI-assisted, simulation-based, and model-based results before drawing conclusions concerning navigation, ship operations, maritime safety, or risk.

Official Communication

Authors should use the journal's official communication channels for correspondence concerning submissions, peer review, publication, appeals, corrections, or editorial matters. Manuscripts should not be submitted by email unless specifically requested by the Editorial Office.

Administrative correspondence, commercial relationships, or other non-editorial matters do not influence peer-review outcomes or editorial decisions. Manuscripts are evaluated according to scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, ethical compliance, transparency, and relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope.

Editorial Independence: Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial, financial, institutional, shipping-industry, regulatory, technological, or personal interests.
